All statutory amounts by age: the minimum hourly wage for 21+ and the minimum youth wage for ages 15 up to and including 20. For employees and employers — reference date 1 July 2026, with the amounts of 1 January 2026 below.

Explanation: minimum wage and youth wage

The statutory minimum hourly wage applies to employees aged 21 and older; for 15 up to and including 20 the minimum youth wage (a percentage of the statutory minimum wage). Since 2024 there is no longer a fixed minimum monthly wage: the entitlement is an hourly wage. For bbl apprentices aged 18 up to and including 20, different amounts apply. Frequently asked questions

How high is the minimum wage in 2026?

As of 1 July 2026, the statutory minimum hourly wage for 21+ is €14.99 gross per hour. As of 1 January 2026 it was €14.71. The amounts are indexed every six months.

What is the minimum youth wage?

For employees aged 15 up to and including 20, a lower hourly wage applies: from 30% (15 years) to 80% (20 years) of the statutory minimum hourly wage. There is no statutory minimum youth wage for 13- and 14-year-olds.

Is there a fixed minimum monthly wage?

No. Since 1 January 2024 there is only a minimum hourly wage. The pay per week or month depends on the number of hours worked (and counted).

What does a bbl apprentice earn at minimum?

For bbl apprentices aged 18, 19 and 20, different amounts apply (as of 1 July 2026: €6.82 / €7.87 / €9.22 per hour). For 15–17 and 21+ in bbl, the ordinary amounts apply.

May a collective agreement go below the minimum wage?

No. A collective agreement or employment contract may not go below the statutory minimum (youth) wage; it may go higher.
